Elders

We are witnessing global warming, climate change, the extinction of plant and animal life, the disappearance of drinking water, the complete threat of the ecological balance – we are witnessing a time in which one species – the human species – is dominant and thus threatening, both for itself and the environment that it’s embraced and born from. The Anthropocene, a geological period in which people determine the dynamics of motion, commotion and movement of survival, ignores the deepness of community consciousness and the sharing of physical and spiritual spaces, forgetting previous experiences and creating an offer according to the current need, quick change and short-term thought. Such a period necessarily requires a change of perspective, an awareness of the play of light and shadow that takes us through the cycle of life, filling the spirit and reminding us of the “here and now”, like the council of wise men we meet in different cultures, religions and mythologies, a kind of supernatural beings oriented towards friendship, empathy, discipline and maturity in the course of life. With a critical awareness of the challenges of
the modern world, we enter the ambience – an artistic intervention created from airy characters whose movement depends on the flow of air, and traveling visuals whose projection we hunt around the space following the story of the bleaching of the coral reef as the most visually striking evidence of the irreversible change in the image of the world. We feel the fragility of existence in the fragments of abstract and figurative forms among which we walk, and their movement, which is a consequence of “other people’s” movements, inspires a collective experience. “Elders”, i.e. the wise, are not present as individuals with a recognizable
appearance, but change and adapt to natural conditions by reacting to stimuli from the outside in order to stimulate
transformation processes from within, whereby the observers do not remain at the level of “observation”, but take on the role of autonomous thinkers, discoverers and initiators of change
