When I finally agreed to hold my next exhibition at Garage Kamba, the delight and gratitude reflected on the faces of the gallery staff reminded me of how important it is to sometimes pause and narrow our scope. Everyone deserves to experience my artistic work, even if it means momentarily putting aside larger commitments I regularly engage in. Helping others and fulfilling their sense of purpose fills me with immense joy. As times become tougher and people feel more lost, my role in this process becomes clearer—inevitable, in fact. It has always been clear. Giving of oneself—through reason, feelings, and energy—requires much sacrifice, yet I remain grounded by a humble perspective on who I am. When I encounter a soul in need, I sometimes wonder, “What have you done?” But I quickly dismiss such thoughts. It is not my place to ask nor for others to answer. My role is to give, to help, while others simply take and help themselves. I eagerly look forward to another opportunity for connection that Garage Kamba will host!
